On behalf of the EU Delegation to Moldova, wish to invite the Civil Society Forum National Platform to a consultative meeting on the Eastern Partnership Roadmap. The meeting will be chaired by H.E. Ambassador Dirk Schuebel.


As you know, the Joint Declaration of the Warsaw Eastern Partnership Summit of September 2011 called for the elaboration of a roadmap which should guide and monitor the implementation of the Partnership until the next Summit in the second half of 2013. The European External Action Service is currently working with the services of the European Commission to develop these ideas. The Roadmap will be adopted as a High Representative/European Commission Communication which will be a part of the European Neighbourhood Package on 25 April of 2012.

On April 16-18, 2012, the Open Government Partnership (OGP) will hold its annual meeting in Brasilia, Brazil. Participants will include high-level representatives from OGP’s 50 member governments, civil society, the private sector, and the media. 

At this meeting, all 42 new OGP member countries will present their country action plans, the 8 additional Steering Committee countries will share their progress to date, and all participants will join in thematic discussions and have the chance to input into OGP’s overall strategic vision for the future.

                                                          A P P E A L from Moldova's civil society representatives
                                 on the urgent need to replace the current peacekeeping mission on the Nistru River



Relying on the principles and values of democracy, based on respect for human dignity, promoted by and enshrined in key international documents, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms;

Noting that the current so-called peacekeeping format:
•    was ab initio constituted with severe violations of the principles and conditions of an international peacekeeping mission, comprising only the warring parties and falling short of the minimum standards for an International Peace Mission;
•    doesn’t have any temporal limitation for its functioning, being politically, morally and internationally outworn;
•    represents a real threat to the peace and security of Moldova as well as to individual security;

National Youth Council from Moldova, organization that implements this project, together with his partners, aims to enhance the cooperation between public institution and youth organization from Black Sea Region. During the project will be organized: contact making seminar, job shadow in one of those 9 countries, workshops to present the country experience in youth policy field, an evaluation of youth policy from al 9 countries and a high level regional conference on youth policy.

As a final result of the project, will be elaborated and adopted a strategic document regarding the further development of the youth policy in the Black Sea countries. This document will be promoted through a network of organization, created by these countries, also this network will serve as a platform for countries in the Black Sea region in addressing issues related to youth and youth approach in the context of Black Sea Cooperation and Eastern Partnership.

The Government of the Republic of Moldova has received financing from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and intends to apply part of the proceeds to contract a FIRM for the provision of Consultant services aimed at developing the concept and providing two successive 2-days trainings for circa 20 trainees focused on advocacy and mass media issues for organizations representing the civil sector, active in the field of HIV prevention and control.

 

The estimated time period required for implementation of the assignment is 10 days. There shall be a 6 weeks time interval between the first and second trainings.
